Radha Kund and Shyam Kund are not just sacred water bodies—they are embodiments of divine love, standing as eternal symbols of the purest bond between Radha and Krishna. Located in the Govardhan area near Vrindavan, these twin kunds are considered among the holiest places for devotees.

The Divine Origin

According to sacred lore, after Krishna slayed the demon Aristasura, Radha playfully questioned his purity. To prove his sanctity, Krishna struck the ground with his heel, creating Shyam Kund. Not to be outdone, Radha and her friends dug a nearby kund and filled it with water from the sacred Manasi Ganga—thus creating Radha Kund.

A Spiritual Pilgrimage

Devotees from around the world come to bathe in these kunds during midnight rituals on Bahulastami. It is believed that a dip in Radha Kund purifies the soul and blesses one with the love and devotion that Radha had for Krishna.

These sacred ponds are not merely geographical locations; they are portals to divine consciousness. Surrounded by small temples and ghats, the air here feels thick with devotion, love, and transcendental energy.

Meditative Environment

Morning and evening aartis, flower offerings, and continuous chants make the atmosphere spiritually magnetic. The best time to visit is during Kartik month, especially on the night of Bahulastami.
